Joanne P. LaGanke MS Center

Dr. Christopher LaGanke

Dr. LaGanke founded North Central Neurology in 1999. He received a Bachelor's in Biology from the University of North Carolina in 1985 and went on to obtain his MD from MeHarry Medical College School of Medicine. Dr. LaGanke completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he also completed his neurology residency as well as a fellowship in neuroimmunology. Dr. LaGanke has received numerous honors for his work in the field of Multiple Sclerosis research and for his exceptional patient care, even receiving Health Professional of the Year in 2013. Dr. LaGanke has made significant strides in MS research, acting as the principal investigator in over 66 clinical trials. Dr. LaGanke enjoys speaking on behalf of his research nationwide and abroad. He has been married for 24 years. He and his wife Mindy have 7 children and 2 grandchildren. 

Cindy Kimbrough, CRNP

Cindy first joined North Central Neurology in August of 2014. Prior to joining NCN, she served as a Critical Care Unit Nurse at CRMC for 6 years and later became a nurse practitioner in June of 2012. She served as a nurse practitioner for 1 year at CRMC. In June of 2013, she transferred to the Pegasus Emergency Group in Decatur, AL. She served for 1 year as an emergency room nurse practitioner between Decatur General Hospital and Parkway Medical Center. Since joining NCN, Cindy has strived to provide the best and highest quality of care to each of her patients.



Ryan Shannon, CRNP

Ryan joined North Central Neurology in April of 2021. He was previously employed as a nurse practitioner at Neurology Consultants of Montgomery. Prior to that, he served as a staff nurse for three years on the general neurology acute care unit at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Ryan holds a Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), as well as a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Nursing. Ryan seeks to provide sound and compassionate care to each and every patient. His primary areas of interest include Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Epilepsy, and Migraines. Ryan is happily married and he and his wife Natalie have one son.
